Bunded fuel storage tanks are used to store hazardous substances - domestic heating oil. They contrast from other oil storage tanks, for example, 'single skin tanks' since they have an extra tank or 'outside skin' (otherwise called bunding). This means if any oil spills from the principle storage tank, the fuel will be securely contained inside the outside layer, or boundary, preventing external spillage.
